Every Tuesday at 5pm, UNT NABA comes together for our weekly meeting. At this meeting, business professionals from a different company will come and visit our chapter. We get to learn about their company, who they are, and the internship/job opportunities they have available. They will also help us learn and develop the essentials skills needed during the recruiting process and even once you got the job. Examples of skills they will help you sharpen include resume building, interview skills, conflict management, personal branding and more!
NABA Conference
Every Fall, NABA offers a huge 3-day conference that is full of professional development training and networking opportunities. UNT and many other schools' NABA chapters come together to network with over 40-50 different companies and attend professional development seminars. On day one of the conference, students will network with all of the companies by attending career fairs. Students who impress employers will then be offered an interview the next day. From there, students who interview well enough have the opportunity to be extended a job offer on the last day of conference. Many of our students have left conference with job and internship offers as well as sharper professional skills!
Mentorship
Mentorship is another key part of UNT NABA. Each semesters, students have the opportunity to build a 1-on-1 relationship with a NABA Alumni who has real-world experience. Mentors will become your own personal helper for any questions you may have about the professional world. They've been through recruiting and now have professional jobs themselves, meaning they know what it takes and are ready to help you overcome this challenge!
Scholarships
UNT NABA understands the struggles of being a college student and just how expensive it can be to attend school. That's why we are here to help! By joining, you will have the opportunity to apply for scholarships that will help aid you in your journey as not, only a NABA member, but also a student!
Socials
Socials are an essential function in helping us foster and strengthen the UNT NABA family. These events are designed for members to come together, have fun and more importantly get to know one another better. Activities we have done in the past include watching a movie together, going out to eat, and having a family game night.
Community Service
Giving back to the community is important, and UNT NABA strives to uphold that. These events are designed to help those around us who may not have as much. Community service events we have done in the past include helping build homes for Habitat for Humanity, host canned food drives for local food banks and creating appreciation cards for Denton's nonprofits.
